How To Play

You must create a scary short film that is 4 minutes or less. To have a chance to win the money you must include our two bonus rules and keep judging criteria in mind. You will have 3 weeks to film, edit, and submit your video.

This year you have 3 chances to win money! $1,000 prize winner chosen by The Film Garage 208. $350 CROWD FAVORITE chosen by online votes… and $150 for the viewing party crowd favorite.

On October 1st, the 2 rules + judging criteria will be released on our website and filming can begin! Videos must be submit by October 18, at midnight.

After submissions have been collected- online voting begins! SHARE and encourage friends & family to vote for your film so you can win CROWD FAVORITE prize of $350. Online voting will be open until October 28th at midnight.

Everyone is invited to our in person viewing party and award ceremony for the top ten finalists on October 29th. Which is your LAST chance to win money when we vote for the viewing party crowd favorite winner of $150.

– Can be filmed on anything- even an iphone
– Submit by October 18, at Midnight

Video Submission

All participants (or team) must submit their video by posting it to YouTube with the proper title format as follows: “Name of Film”- Film Garage 208 Halloween Contest 2024. Making a YouTube account is free so if you don’t already have an account you can easily make one! Then email a link to your video to [email protected] and include your name and phone number. You must also be following us on either Instagram and/or Facebook to win!

Voting & Winning

Once you submit your video by October 18th at midnight, we will create a poll for online viewers to vote for their favorite film through our website filmgarage208.com. You will want to SHARE and get as many votes as possible. Most votes wins online crowd favorite of $350. Limit of one vote per person per day. Voting ends October 28 at midnight.

Winners will be announced officially at the in person viewing party of the top ten films on October 29th from 7-8:30pm at Center Stage Theatre; then announced on social media the following day – October 30.

Attend the Viewing Party!!!

October 29 is our first IN PERSON viewing party at Center Stage Theater in Idaho Falls! Ticket sales are ONLY $5 and profits will be donated to the Snake River Animal Shelter. (extra donations encouraged!!! think of the animals…)

Included with your ticket will be photos on the red carpet (dress code is spooky cocktail), Chick-fil-a sandwiches (to the first 150 guests), soda, popcorn, and live voting of the crowd favorite. Also be the first to hear all three winners! Which will be announced at the end of the show.

Everyone is invited to this fun night out to support creatives & the local film community! Please bring family and friends to support your film and get more votes! Tickets(+donations!) can be purchased online ahead of time.
